Die TWS freut sich über das erfolgreiche 17. Symposium, das am 16. März mit fast 80 Teilnehmern in Berlin stattfand. Zum Thema "Hereditary Spastic Paraplegias and related disorders: Update on research concepts and on therapeutic strategies" referierten renommierte Wissenschaftler aus Deutschland, Kanada, England, Frankreich und den USA. Zudem bot die Stiftung Nachwuchswissenschaftlern erstmals die Möglichkeit, ihre Projekte in einer Postersession zu präsentieren. Diesem Angebot folgten schon bei der diesjährigen Premiere 26 Studenten, von denen nach Abstimmung aller Teilnehmer vier den mit 300 € dotierten Posterpreis gewannen. Auch die Gewinner der 2018er Förderrunde stellten während des Symposiums ihre Arbeit vor.
