HSP ist eine Seltene Erkrankung - aber zusammengenommen gibt es auf der ganzen Welt zahlreiche Betroffene. Für die Tom Wahlig Stiftung ist es wichtig, stets im Austausch mit anderen Betroffenen und Gruppen zu sein, die sich dafür einsetzen, HSP bekannter zu machen und die Forschung zu fördern.
So haben Susanne und Henry Wahlig auf ihrer Kanadareise die Gelegenheit genutzt, um sich mit Jean Chambers zu treffen. Jean lebt mit ihrem Assistenzhund in Vancouver und ist die Sekretärin der Spastic Paraplegia Foundation, die in Kanada und den USA agiert.
