The Tom Wahlig Foundation was established in 1998 with the aim of bringing together all those concerned with Hereditary Spastic Paraplegia (HSP) and related diseases. We were successful in promoting research into neuroscience as well as clinical care for HSP patients.

The sum of 120.000 €

will be awarded to a distinguished scientist with an excellent record.

Proposals should represent a comprehensive approach focusing on HSP and related diseases etiology and opening up new therapeutic perspectives.

All proposals will be evaluated by a neutral jury consisting of: Prof. Jürgen Winkler (Erlangen), Prof. Thomas Epplen (Bochum) and Prof. Stephan Sigrist (Berlin).

Applicants should submit:

·        a five-page exposé for a three year research project

·        their full CV (resumé)

·        a two-page summary of their research record and a list of key publications
