2003: Dr. Windpassinger winner


The first award 2003 went to Dr. Christain Windpassinger from the Institute for medical Biology and human genetics at Graz/Austria.

He published the first description of the muatation of "Silver Syndrom", which is a special form of HSP, where even the hand nerves are affected

Refinement of the "Silver syndrome locus" on chromosome 11q12-q14 in four families and exclusion of eight candidate genes.
