An international co-working project is funded by TWS: Alexandra Davies (Manchester, UK) and Stefan Hauser (Tübingen) received the Research Award at our 22nd symposium.

TWS Research Award winners honored

Presentation of projects at symposium in Erlangen

Right at the deadline on September 30th, 2023 TWS received 10 applications for TWS Research Award.

Thanks to a donation of a private supporter and thanks to the financial cooperation of the German self-support group in total three projects can be funded.

The international co-working project “Unlocking HSP pathology through unbiased axonal proteomics in iPSC-derived Neurons” by Stefan Hauser (German Centre of Neurodegenarative Diseases, Tübingen) and Alexandra Davies (University of Manchester, UK) will be supported with € 13,047. 

Linda Nemetschke from the Martin-Luther-Univerität in Halle-Wittenberg receives € 14, 500 for her project “C. elegans as new model to study WASHC5/Strumpellin function and SPG8-pathology”.

Francesca Sardina has applied with the project “Microtubule cytoskeleton organization as biomarker to develop new therapeutic perspectives for Hereditary Spastic Paraplegia type 4 (SPG4-HSP)”  and receives € 10,000 for her work on it.

During the last TWS symposium, that took place in Erlangen in the beginning of March 2024, the awardees presented their projects to over 100 participants from all over the world.
